That was definitely Nik....but then why...

Suddenly the feeling overtook her body once again, her eyes frantically scanned the scene before her, searching for the source of the intrusion. It was him she knew it, there was no one else with the ability to link with her.

There. He was standing directly in front of her kept away by the crowd of people between them. Blondie nowhere to be seen.

It's been a while Kayci.

What are you doing here?

Not the welcome I was expecting.

Well what were you expecting Nik? That I'd run into your arms with tears streaming down my face?

"You know my dad told you can only ever link with one person." "Everybody knows that." "Do you know why that is?" Kayci looked up to the night sky as if searching for the answer among the stars. "Because it keeps things fair." "Wrong. It's because when you link with someone your fates intertwine for the rest of your lives. Kayci you know what that means right?" "We'll always be connected?" "More than that Kayci...you'll always be in my life and I'll always be in yours."

Kayci turned to look at Nik, in the dim moonlight his features were soft, kind, familiar. She had known Nik for as long as she could remember, she was glad that she had linked with him; secretly she had always wanted him to be the one, the one whom she could talk to without saying a word, the one whom she could hold without having to hold, the one whom she would spend the rest of her life with.

The reflection from the water made Kayci glow in the dim light, she was beautiful. He had always known he would link with someone when he turned sixteen, but unlike the other boys he never worried who it would be with; Nik always knew without a doubt Kayci would be his link. There were no secrets between the two of them, that was how he wanted it; he wanted Kayci to know everything about him and to always be there beside him.

Don't even start Nik! You left, without a word you left.

What do you mean you had no choice!? You chose to leave!

I hope I'm not interrupting, but Nik and I must be on our way.

What!? How could there be a third person within the link? That wasn't possible, a link was between two people and two people only. Then Blondie appeared next to Nik, again interlacing her fingers with his.

Nik what is going on?

It's nothing you have to worry about deary. Now let's go Nik.

Without another word the link was released Kayci could feel Nik's presence again leaving her, fear seeped into Kayci the memory of how he left six years ago flashed before her. She started to run after them, "Nik!" He didn't look back. Kayci tried to link with him, but something was wrong, it was like a door slammed shut cutting her attempt to link with Nik short. Kayci longed to be linked again, the feeling of Nik's hold leaving her clawed at Kayci, but the presence of Blondie in their link made Kayci feel violated.

How is this happening?...How did she link with us?...Why did Nik leave with her?...Why did he say he didn't have a choice?...

Questions overflowed in Kayci's mind, she needed answers and she knew where she could get them.

Reunion

It's been six years since I last saw him. Back then everything was different, everything was...simple.

The last time I saw her I was 16, I was safe, I was me.

They stood there gazing at each other, speechless. Finally their gazes broken by a voice, owned by a girl walking towards them. Kayci turned her gaze onto the approaching girl, she was roughly the same height as her, maybe a few inches taller, slim, toned body, blonde hair, but the way her eyes flitted from object to object reminded Kayci of a hawk searching for prey, small chills rippled down her spine. "There you are, what are you doing here?" The girl walked up beside Nik, intertwining her fingers with his. "Nothing, just got caught up in the...scenery." His gaze never left Kayci, she felt as though his gaze controlled her body, making movement impossible.

He can't...

But before she could test the accusation that had spawned in her head Nik's gaze left her body. "Let's go." And with that the two turned away and left.

Circus Dance

So my friend who's still on DC was asking me to give her some ideas for a dance routine. The song she picked was 'Walking on Air' by Kerli and so after listening to it I gave her the idea of a dark circus! If you listen to the song, I think it's no joke a killer idea, and choreo and costumes would be amazing!!! Just saying.
